Your store starts out at a free Minicart subdomain, but most stores eventually want their own domain. You can buy one through Minicart or connect one you already own.

Option 1: Buy a domain through Minicart
Search for the domain you want. If it is available, Minicart can register and configure it automatically. No DNS setup needed.
Option 2: Connect a domain you already own
Add your domain and Minicart will show you the exact DNS records to add at your current registrar.
Subdomain (e.g. shop.example.com)
Add a single record at your registrar:

Root / apex domain (e.g. example.com)
Root domains cannot use CNAME records, so you add an A record plus a CNAME for the www version:

The exact values you need are always shown in Minicart after you add your domain. Copy them from there to be safe.
Verify
Add the records at your registrar and click Verify in Minicart. DNS can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to propagate. Once the domain shows Active, your store is live at that URL. Minicart provisions an SSL certificate for you automatically.
